Dura Max Water Storage Tank

January 5, 2022 //  by efficient

Dura Max Water storage tanks are available in several forms. Some Dura water tanks are linked to a home’s plumbing system, while others store water for emergency use. The installation of a tank is defined first and foremost by how the system will be utilized, which includes any pressure pump or irrigation connections required to transport water into and out of the tank. This section will go through the fundamental methods for installing the most popular types of Dura Max Water Storage Tanks.

Dura Max Water tanks

Build a Base or Foundation

Whatever sort of tank you install, you’ll need a flat and level base for it to stand on. Most individuals utilize concrete for the foundation; others choose the less expensive option of spreading a thick layer of compacted building material. The goal is to make an even surface broader than the tank. You should also ensure that the base is not too rugged or rough since this might puncture or unbalance the tank.

Add Overflow Drainage (for rain harvesting)

You’ll need an overflow spout if you’re installing a water harvester. Some tanks include an overflow assembly; others may require you or a specialist to install one. Fortunately, it’s not a difficult task. Simply drill a hole, connect a gasket and, if necessary, a filter, and screw the fixture into place. This ensures that any extra water a) has somewhere to go and b) does not damage the concrete foundation owing to overflow water dripping on it.

Attach to a Water Supply

If the tank’s water source is a well, you’ll need a pressure tank to guide the water from the well to the Dura Max Water Storage Tank. Getting this network of pipes and fittings level and correctly pressured is a difficult task that a qualified plumber or contractor should perform. If you are unsure about your talents, you should employ a professional.

If the water tank is meant to collect rainwater, a rain catcher or drainage system will be required to send the rainfall to the tank. This is usually simply a roof gutter system with a downspout and some fill piping that flows to the tank’s entrance. This is known as a “dry” delivery mechanism.

Set up the Pressure System (for Well Water Systems)

Any type of pressurized plumbing system will need additional gear. In most circumstances, a check valve, a pressure tank, a relief valve, a pressure switch, and a boiler drain are required.
